Practitioner Research Idea Summit (PRISm)
Role:
I am currently serving as the Consultant for the 2025 batch of PRISm, providing strategic guidance and expertise to ensure the seamless execution of the programme.
Previously, I was a part of the orchestration team for the 2023 and 2024 batches, where I contributed to programme design, content curation, video editing, LMS management, orchestration of live sessions, and email and social media management.
Organisation: EdTech Society and supported by Centre for Educational Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India.
Objectives:
To facilitate community building among teachers to promote scholarship of teaching and learning.
Support teachers in transitioning towards educational technology research through research-practice partnerships.
Inspire and prepare teachers to actively engage in and contribute to conferences like T4E, ensuring their voices and innovations are represented in discussions on advancing learning and education.
Nature:
It brings together Learners, from diverse fields such as Engineering, Liberal Arts, and School teachers who do not have prior research experience in the field of educational technology. These learners are guided by experienced mentors called Research Buddies. By blending interactive sessions, mentorship, and collaborative learning, the programme enables learners to explore innovative educational challenges, conduct meaningful research, and present their findings at peer-reviewed conferences or journals. The programme is completely online and spans around three to four months. It has two distinct phases.
Learning phase: Learners engage in intensive sessions covering fundamental research methods.
Research phase: Learners apply their knowledge to conduct research studies and document their progress.
Achievements:
The PRISm 2024 programme achieved the acceptance of 19 papers at the Technology 4 Education (T4E) 2024.
Four learners from the 2023 batch returned as research buddies in the 2024 batch, mentoring new participants and contributing to their publication success.
